  • Plug Caps

Hey anybody know were I can get the the spark plug caps for the XS? I know DK has some in the catalog but not by bike so if someone has a part number for the long and the short that would help.

    Thanks, Russ

I just replaced the coils on my bike. I ordered the Dyna wires to go along with the Dyna coils (I recommend this upgrade, cost me about $160).

The plug ends were straight and had the wires looped out in the wind and rubbing on the gas tank. I went to the local auto parts store and got some "MSD" 90 deg boots.

Cut the old end off, crimp on the plug terminal then slide the boot on.
    Most any brand should work.

Sad part about the whole project was that I took pictures of all the steps, 2 hours after I was done I saw my 2 year old with the camera......she deleted half the pictures!!! Now I have to decide if I want to disassemble to retake the pics (was going to send to forum/allXS for the "how to" section)

        NGK Plug Caps

        Russ,
I dug this out of my files. Hope it helps......

NGK makes plug caps in more than one resistance value. Use the LBO5F type or equivalent.

There are many places y'can buy these, but I have this link in my favorites file. Try:
        http://www.650motorcycles.com/mikesxs5.html
Near the bottom of page #5.......

23-3113 $2.50ea. Plug Cap - LB05F NGK 5k Resistor type (use with electronic or point Ignitions) Sold ea.

Don't let the XS650 thing throw you. A lot of XS650, etc. stuff is used on the XS11.......

          I might add:
the LB05F - is the 90 degree plug for the outer cylinders (1&4)
the VB05F is angled better for the inner cylinders (2&3)
