  • The sound i want!! Who makes it?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-bLuHiG-z8

Or how do i go about getting it? It's the same bike i posted about early last week. It's a 4 into two exhaust and it sounds awesome on this bike. I posted the video so yall could get an idea of what i want for my bike. Anyone know what exhaust is on that thing? That sounds wicked! Thanks fellas.

(oh and the guy thats gonna hardtail my bike said he can do the exhaust too if i have the motor mounts for him to use. Would just straight pipe sound very good on these bikes?)
Yes it's a damn nice bike, yes it's in REALLY good condition, yes it would be a shame to chop it, BUT damn how cool would it look with ape hangers?

        Sound

Take the 4 header pipes and install 4 shortie mufflers on them the ones with baffels but you can look right thru them i did that to one of mine and it sounded like the video. They are cheap about 40 bucks apiece and can be bought at any motorcycle shop. They might hafta order but most times 1 day will do it.

To me, it sounds a lot like the setup that XSChop has on his bike. You might check his pics out here..

            Link

I have heard his bike in person, and it's not as loud as you'd think it would be, but he has installed baffle plates on the end of the exhaust with holes drilled in them.

                I had a MAC ...

4/2 with turn out tips ..... sounded very gnarly ... similar to the sound track. I didn't like it much. Too loud .... I don't care for the accompaning scrutiny.

It's pretty tore-up now BUT if ya' want it to check it out .... it's yours. Pay the shipping

Several years ago we had a fellow show up at one of the XS East rallies riding a XS11 with the Mac 4-2 turnouts, BUT he had removed the baffles....thing sounded like a HARLEY! That got him his nickname, HarleyDave!

You could also try getting some harley throwaways at your local dealer, and putting them on in place of the OEM mufflers, that way you can experiment with the baffles and such on the Harley muffs without damaging the OEM's...if yours is the one I'm thinking about with the pristine OEM pipes?? So many new members, can't keep track!

                    Exhaust Made Easy

Hey Josh, you should recognize the tips....autozone 2.5" turn-down specials.....I have the Jardines 4-2 for low end torque. I played around and got the best performance by welding a baffle plate to the ends of the tips and drilling exactly 7ea 0.375" holes.....I did not have to rejet here either.....

                      Nuther Lazy Method

I used 1500 deg. Ceramic Black from Duplicolor and it has not come off after a few hundred miles....I just scuffed up the chrome with 220 grit wet sand.

                        EXIT profile

When I cut an Inch off the downtubes and rewelded, it put the exhaust chamber exactly 1/4" below the Busa footpegs and gave me way more clearance to lean in the corners without scraping.....
