Yes it's a damn nice bike, yes it's in REALLY good condition, yes it would be a shame to chop it, BUT damn how cool would it look with ape hangers?

Awesome man thanks for the info (no reason just curious as to what it meant!) Yeah if anyone wants to trade the seat is in very good shape for it's age. I'm not sure if it's been recoverd i'd assume it's original cause the paint looks original and it's been garage kept all it's life. I only paid 1300$ for the bike so the seat dont really bother me cause i saved enough to afford a different one.

But if someone does want to trade seats for one thats not so big and bulky i'll trade the seat and the sissy bar for a smaller sleeker one! THanks fellas!

        S means it is a special. F means it is a '79.

Look after that exhaust system. It is probably worth about half of the price you paid for the whole bike!

Wow man, that is in great condition! Where did you find it? I'm sorry I didn't make it over your way this afternoon. I spent the evening pulling my exhaust to change the oil (stupid Kerker). It smelled strongly of gas like I suspected. I also fixed the petcocks that caused the whole mess. I will be riding tomorrow so let me know if you work.

          See ya,

Why is the exhaust system so "rare"? It don't look to me (or sound) like it's worth anything. It sounds alot like a sport bike to me and i'm not a big fan of the sound. I want it to sound more like a cruiser not a crotch rocket. Hahaha, yeah i got the bike from my step dads, cousins brother in law. So kindof a friend of the family. It's in REALLY nice condition for it's age. The tach don't work why i'm not sure but it don't. I think it's the tach tho cause the lights don't work either. Which sucks cause the tach has the fuel light and stuff on it. And my headlight switch the little plastic part came off the first time i switched it on going down britton road.

Anyways, yeah i work at 730-4 at autozone on sw89th between penn and western in oklahoma city if you guys want to stop by and check it out your welcome too.

            Thanks again fellas. Later.

Stock exhaust have not been made for a long time.
I have seen maybe two and half NOS chrome stock exhausts on eBay in the last few years, so they are hard to come by.

              BTW,
cleaning all the electrical connections on your bike might solve most of your problems. Pull the seat, side covers, open head light bucket and also behind fuse block. Generally takes a few hours.

Real nice find.Hey if the light dont come on and the tach doesn't work, does the battery charge?Because those symptoms are signs of charging problems.Like already stated connections are usually to blame.
No matter what exhaust tuo put on that bike it wont sound like a harley if that is what you are thinking by cruiser. But I'm sure you will get used to it.These are awesome bikes.

Simply because it is the stock exhaust, and from your photos, it looks to be in very good condition. The bike was made to run with that 4 into 2 system with a crossover, with the stock airbox. As soon as you have to change out to a 4 into 1 system, you start ruinning into performance issues, blueing pipes, under-bike clearance issues, and possibly oil filter changing problems. I believe the only source now of a new 4 into 2 system is a hand-built custom system in stainless steel out of the UK, and that would cost you all of what you paid for the bike.

OTOH, if you prefer the look and sound of a shiny new 4 into 1 system, drop me a line. I might be able to take that old sytem off your hands for a minimal fee...

Nice find - thats a great looking bike!

When you get a new seat I'd be interested in buying that king queen seat you've got. I don't want to trade ya because I'd like to be able to switch the stock seat out for the bigger king queen seat on long trips.

                        Exhausted

Chop and I will come see you today and let you hear my drilled Kerker and his 4-into-2 dual pipes. It will always sound like a sport bike but I have grown to love my sound. Mine is very raspy....sounds like a crotch rocket with balls.

If you want, I'll help you drill big holes in your factory system to make it louder......(I just said that to infuriate all the purist out there)

It's not that i want it to sound like a harley. I just want it to sound like an old chopper/bobber style bike. Rather then an R1 sportbike.

But the bike is going to a guy in clinton oklahoma at metric choppers this fall. He's gonna hardtail it and build me some custom built ape hanger handle bars for it. And he's gonna build me a new exhaust and mount me a solo seat on it.

So this summer i'll have a TRUCKLOAD of stock parts to get rid of. For example the exhaust system, handle bars most of the factory cables and accessorie's of that nature. The seat front and rear fenders. Theres a chance the final drive might be for sale. If i can get a kit from "chop" on here. But if not then i'll have alot of stuff for sale in the next few months. When it gets to cold to ride here i'll take it to him to start fixing up.

But yeah met scott (dabubble) NICE FREAKEN BIKE!!!! Pictures don't do it justice! He did a good job on his! But we got to cruise about 4 miles up the road. Fun ride. ALot better when i'm not by myself hahaha.

But if anyone has any custom parts for this bike let me know. I want to completly change it. And no im not leaving it how it is. I've cut up good cars to make a race car im not afraid! haha.

But thanks fellas for the opinions! And i'll return some pm's in just a second.
Yes it's a damn nice bike, yes it's in REALLY good condition, yes it would be a shame to chop it, BUT damn how cool would it look with ape hangers?

                              Hey Josh,

Good to meet you today. Your bike is in great shape...and for those of you interested in the exhaust, it too is in GREAT shape. Too bad CHOP (Rob) couldn't make it. Maybe this week we can all cruise down to Santa Fe for Bike Night.

I rode until about 6pm then decided SWMBO might get (More)angry so I came home!
