  • Gold Tint Chrome Plating

Has anyone tried to have their trim pieces plated/replated ? I once took some old case covers and had them chrome plated with excellent results and was curious if it was possible to have the gold tint plated.

Has anyone tried their hands at electroplating? I realize gold tint pieces are getting to be a rare find and am looking into other options.

any comments or links to info is extreamly appreciated

I had all my faded gold chrome redone in regular chrome . . . personal preference.

The shop that did it was "Show and Go" in Dallas, and they said that they could do the gold chrome too.

I have considered going that route. Especially that most of the gold has faded or been worn off. I don`t know yet as the gold does look pretty sharp.

      Thanks for the reply

As the proud owner of a Midnight Special myself I have pondered the same things. Some things just look better GOLD. I just hadnt taken the time to research the places to get it done. Any info and thought would be great.
As a freind and I drove back from N.J. the other night (after picking up a Midnight that we bought) we talked about the same things. Because the Gold parts on the bike we bought were really rough and need attention.
