    Fuel Manifold Mount

Hello, I'm looking for a picture of the mount point on the carbs for the manifold. I have the mount that is on the manifold, I need to see where it mount to the carbs. Thanks

Your post is a little cryptic, Magnum440. The carbs slide into the holders/manifolds, and are held in place with clamps on the outside of the holders. What year/model bike do you have/ Welcome to the group, by the way!

I guess you can call it the fuel pump. It's vacum opperated. goes between the tank and carbs.

I've got all that. Where does it mount? The bracket on the actual spider has to mount somewhere. It has a hole for an 8mm screw according to the parts diagram. I just don't see anywhere for it to mount.

There should be a bracket on the octopus, it shows in the picture

                    Sorry Trapper,

But yes, there IS a bracket that it mounts to similar to the throttle cable bracket. The bracket is held in place by 2 of the carb top screws, and sticks out forward of the carbs, and THAT is what the Octy attaches to! You can see it by following the Link in the LINKS forum to the Official Yamaha Onlne Parts Fiche site!

OK, I see the bracket. That's the one I need. Now, who has one or is easily fabricated? Is there a certain angle it should be? I finally found it on the 1100F fiche. Mine is an SG model.

                            Hey Magnum,

Several folks have removed/bypassed their OCTY, and so there should be plenty of these brackets laying around! You could post a thread in the PARTS WANTED Forum, and I'm pretty sure you'll get an offer to send one to you for shipping costs only! There is a nut welded to the end, that a large head philips screw goes into. No special angle needed, SO...you could get some peice of bracket at your local LOWES/HomeDepot, and IF you have a grinder, could cut and shape it to fit around the carb top, and just use a nut/bolt combo!?

Thanks for the replies. I'll try making one now that I have an idea where it mounts. I can use the cable one for a pattern. You say that alot of people scrap the spider, is there a reason?
