I think I posted before that my 78 XS11 runs great but makes my clothes stink like a garage. Today I pulled the exhaust and found that I had three out of four gaskets. Number 4 was missing. Pretty sure this is the problem. Before I got this bike someone had painted the exhaust with a flat grey paint. Not sure why. Most of it burned off, but now I'm trying to remove the rest. Not having much luck with paint removers, have tried several and steel wook, but only takes off a little. Anybody ever see this gray paint thing and have ideas of how to get rid of it? I also noticed that one of the mufflers is rusting through underneath, so maybe new exhaust would be easier that trying to clean the old ones. Any suggestions on what exhaust to get?

Take it to a radiator shop and throw them in thier hot tank for a couple of days.
Nice day, if it doesn't rain...

I believe the only exhaust system still available is made by MAC.
Jardins can still be found on ebay sometimes.

Either the 4 into 1, or the 4 into two.

I ordered one directly from Mac since everyone who sells them is out of stock. I spoke directly with them and they said they were going to make more in July. July came and went. I cancelled my order with them and bought a new set of Jardine 4 to 1's off eBay for a few dollars more. They may intend on making more but I think you're in for a long wait. Bohn at Merriam Cycle said he has another set of chrome 4 to 1's. I don't know if he intends to sell them. He has a brand new black with silver cannister 4 to 1 system for sale on eBay right now. There's another guy with the same system on sale and he keeps selling one after another. I emailed him to find out how many he had and got a nasty answer back. Deal with him if you want - just don't ask him any questions 'cause it makes him mad! Here's a link to the system for sale from Merriam Cycle:
