    Which XS750 parts work on a XS1100?

Guy near me is parting out a '79 XS750SF and I was just wondering if anyone knows which parts off that 750 will interchange with my '79 XS1100SF.

I'm pretty sure that most, if not all, of the controls and gauges will interchange. Starting at the front of the bike, what about goodies such as the front wheel, brake calipers & rotors, forks, fender, headlight bucket & turn signals? Probably next to nothing in the middle of the bike. So that leaves the rear - wheel, caliper, rotor, fender, taillight assembly? Am I over looking anything?

Or am I way off base and basically nothing will interchange.

    Thanks,

    Scott

check out this great web site, the xs part number finder. I use it all the time and registration is free -

    XS Part Number Finder

Here is the description from the web page -

This site is aimed at owners of Yamaha XS1100, XS850 and XS750 Motorcycles.

It allows you to find the Yamaha part numbers and view the parts microfiche for XS 1100, XS 850 and XS 750 motorcycles. In the future we will be adding the XS650 models.

If you are looking for a part then we can tell you which other motorbikes in the XS1100/850/750 range have your part.

And, if you are selling a part then we can tell you what other bikes it will fit.

    Good Luck,

Off the top of my head, Headlight speedo not tach. pilot box switch gear relays front wheel but not the rotors. middle and final drive. front and rear brake calipers, rear fender. I'm sure I'm forgetting something but I bought a 750 for parts and used quite a few pieces on the 1100.
I hate signatures. Too many cars and Bikes to list here.

I believe that the forks are a bit different.

          Hi Scott,
use the XS Part Number Finder site and from the Part Finding menu pick Donor Bike Parts.

Then you can do searches like the one below, which is showing all XS750SF Taillight parts used on the XS1100SF

          XS1100 LG "Mr T", SG "ICBM" & FJ1200
Check out the XS Part Number Finder

Thanks for the replies, guys. Not that I really need much for my SF, but spare parts are always nice to have on hand.

And Brian. What can I say? That is one incredible website. Us XS owners are a very lucky bunch to have you on our side. Thank you very much.

I submitted my info for a user ID and will definitely be spending some time there as soon as I get my confirmation link.

            Thanks again everyone.

            Ride safe,

            Scott
