    Spedo drive cable bolt....

Anyone know what size/thread the bolt that holds the speedo drive cable into the hub is? Mine must have fallen out along the road someplace and I don't want to have to take the whole front end into the hardware store to try and match it up.
    Thanks!

I just replaced my cable today, with one that I bought off ebay. It came with the drive hub.

When I went to put it on, I found out it was wrong, in that mine does not use a bolt to hold the cable on Mine has the threaded nut on both ends.

The one that I bought was like the Virago, it has a 10mm head bolt that holds the cable on at the wheel.

I was not happy, until I looked at it and realized the hub that came with the cable would fit, and installed it with the cable!

I didn't realize there were different cable systems on different year XS's.

        different speedo hubs

Standard uses thread on cable hub while Special uses bolt on cable hub.

          Nifty.

Good news is, if you have the drive hub, they both fit.
