Now we have to ask, did you do the black out treatment yourself, or are we looking at the first photo of the elusive Midnight Maxim that has been talked about, but never shown??

I wish I was lucky enough to own a midnight special XJ1100 . I live on the wet coast and the bike sat in PO backyard since 1983 . The chrome had seen better days and needed some color . A XS1100 donated a lot of parts including good front rubber and a non seized engine . they were a match made in heaven . It is a blast to ride and I do it year round to and from work , rain , rain or sun , not snow anymore . This site has always had the answers to all my questions about mating the two bikes . Can anyone imagine buying a brand new XJ100 in 1982 , riding her till 1983 , which was 1,400 KM , now park her out back . That's all she wrote . Wish I found her a little sooner
