Have a question about the little brass tube that mates up with the hole on the flange of the float bowl. When I spray carb cleaner into the tubes they appear to have a small orifice down close to where the gasket sits - almost like a jet. Problem is, they aren't all pointed in the same direction. Anybody know the purpose of that little orifice, and if it makes any difference what direction it is pointed in?

I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.

"Pre-mixture"
Small oriface is to provide air while the tube sucks up fuel.
Without the air intake there.. the choke circuit would get an unmixed solid steam of fuel.
What direction the hole is pointed matters little. That's just the way the tube was facing when it was pressed in"Damn it Jim, I'm a doctor, not a mechanic!' ('Bones' McCoy)
