  • It's alive... again

    After a bad experience with starting the xj1100 up and having the engine blow up at 2000rpm this spring, I finally have got the motor replaced. Started it up and got it idling properly last night.

    now i just have to tidy up some wiring, put the air filters on, the side covers on, replace the speedo, replace the mirrors, replace the cam chain (should have done it before i put the engine in, i know) and it should be ready for the road. i hope.

    -1978 XS750SF - brought back from the dead with carb
    triple clean and boots
    -1982 XJ1100J - brought back from the dead by
    replacing motor after throwing #4 rod
    -1985 XJ750XN - shim job, oil change, ride. not bad for
    $500 including new rear tire.

    '81 XS1100H

    Tkat brace, new coils/wires/plugs, refurbed carbs (thanks 81 xsproject), recon'd top end, windshield (thanks dpotter58), resprayed tank and panels, 4-1 exhaust, sweet xs pod filters, in line fuel filters, progressive springs, thick hand grips, jumped headlight relay.

      If nobody minds seeing my horribly messy garage, i'll take some tonite. it is still in a few pieces, but that doesn't matter too much.

        What we mind... is the people that have incredibly meticulous garages..... Those people are SICK!!! Just leave a "Where's Waldo" doll hidden somewhere so we'll have to look at your stuff for hours... lol

          I told ya it was messy...








          PS the oil spot under the 750 is not a leak, just a leaky oil drain pan as i just changed the oil.
