  • KyN parts for XJ11

    Hi guys...regards from México:
I saw this items at www.knfilters.com for my XJ11, if somebody is interested.
I already have some KyN products in my car, and runs much better (1.8T Jetta 180hp)

[/B]Question[/B]: I have some poor response from stop to 3,000rpm but inmediatelly after this, the bike runs great...I think that the problem are the carburetors jet, so I am suposing that the jet kit will fix this.....Am I right or what can it be?
Somebody have used the KyN jet kit?

The link to check the availability of products for your bike ATV, or car is:

If somebody is interested to check in real time the air/fuel mix, they have a monitor too.....much better than a colortune, but I don´t know the price.

Only one problem...the K&N filter Will Not fit the XJ.

    Trust me on this.

K&N lists the same filter for all '78 -'81 XS11 and the '82 XJ. (Filter number is YA-1400.)
    This information is wrong.

You have 3 options for XJ filters:
    Go with individual clamp-on filters
Modify airbox to accept another filter
Stick with the Yamaha OEM filter, part number 10M-14451-00-00

K&N has been told about this, but I guess they don't believe the guys who own or service XJ1100Js.

Thanks for the Warning Jerry....I was ready to order one :-(
Do you have the part number fotr the individual filters? They doesn't appear as an option for the Maxim.
What do you think about the jet kit?
Do you know if there exist a "rebuilding carb kit" or something from Zanotti or someplace?

My carbs are Mikuni BS34, I have heard that some guys have other carbs

      Thanks

Don't know the K&N part number for the individual filters, but the size you need is 54mm (2 1/8 inches). Cycle-Re-Cycle has Pod individual filters on their web page at:

        http://www.crc2onlinecatalog.com/pod_filters.htm

Look at the 54mm size and you will see the XJ1100 listed.

I am running stock Mikuni BS-34s on my XJ. Regardless of what you have heard, these were the stock Yamaha carbs for the both the XS and XJ. I have not had to rebuild mine, so can't answer directly about rebuild kits. Zanotti Motor should be able to get you a rebuild kit, probably made by K & L, but many have reported the pilot jets are to large and run rich, so you need to keep your original pilot jets or buy new ones as a separate item.

        Good luck!
