  • Kuryakyn ISO grips

If anyone has these grips, could you measure the outside diameter of them including the black "bumps"? Trying to figure out how thick they are.

    Thank you.

Mine came in the mail today. They are the 6241 model on the page you posted. I got mine from Republiccycle.com and they were $53.90+ shipping. The outside diameter is 1.7 inches or just a hair more depending on where I measured. They come with glue etc. Not all the install is easy as just putting em on though as you have to sand or grind down the throttle side barrel till smooth. They will not slip on over the grooves on the throttle tube without sanding em down. I did try the clutch side on an old set of bars I have and they do not get larger when installed over the bars. Also they are longer than the stock ones on my 79 Special by about a half inch inside and 1 inch overall but the instructions tell you how to deal with that. If there is anything else you need to know, get back to me before I install em this weekend.

I mounted mine the other night. They were about 1/2 inch longer inside than my stock grips, so I put metal washers inside the end to wieght the bar ends a bit. The Glue that comes with the grips sets fast on the plastic barrel of the throttle so you have to move quick. The one on the clutch side is more forgiving as it bonds to the metal so you have a bit more time to position it.
I have mine mounted on LTD bars. Both the stock bars and the LTD bars would vibrate and make my fingers numb after 20 miles or so. I did 130 miles yesterday and I tell you I have never been more comfortable. The size is real nice for my grip and they never transfered any vibration to my hands. I wish I had done this 20 years ago.
