  • carb rebuild kits

I am new here , thanks all for your help in resurecting my fathers old 1100 special.
the bike sat for ten years with fuel inthe carbs . etcetera.
I have the bike running well now , except for the leaking carb problem.
I called my local dealer , and was shocked by the 35.00 each carb price for needle and seat kits .
Where do you guys buy your parts , and also how about the pet cock rebuild kits ?
thanks again , your site has been very valuable .

You can do a search on Ebay, fellow named Georgefix sells the carb and petcocks kits. You'll need to be sure of what year and model for the carbs as well as the petcocks, they are different between Specials and Standards.

Most folks don't really need an entire "KIT", usually just the float needle valves and seats, associated O-rings if 80-81 series, and float bowl gasket, Unless doing mods to intake/exhaust the jets should just be cleaned. Several other sources as well for carb parts, MikesXS.com, Partsnmore, Bikebandit, see the LINKS Forum for other sites!

Mikes sells gasket and needle seat/valve only sets for like $12.00 each!

      carb kits

Thanks Top Cat , I have looked over Mike's site , and it states for 650's , and I know those to be a twin .
Dad has one of those left also .
The parts department , was kind enough to give me the new superceded number , and stated they only fit the 1100 special , and some scooters .
Can any one verify this .
I do see the same design on Mikes site , as mine . The press in w/ o ring and clamp .
      Thanks everyone

The 650's and 1100's used teh same carbs for many years.

The XS uses the BS34 carbs used on 80-84 XS650's.

If you do some searches here for part numbers, you can find the actual part numbers from the MikesXS site. The parts vary slightly depending on year.

Save your money and just replace the bowl gaskets and float valves.

That is all I want to replace , but it seems everywhere I look , there is no one that just sells these parts , or they want more than I feel they are worth .
