    Headers looking like crap.

I have 4 into 1 exhaust. The header part looks like garbage. I do not at this time have the funds to replace them. I was looking into possible cleaning them up and painting them with high temp flat black paint. Would this work?

mine were all rusted, just hit them with a wire brush, cleaned and painted with Eastwood Hi Temp Header paint black. Looks pretty good and still holding up. Hasn't burn off or anything.

Ive used black Hi temp paint (VHF brand i thnk) & it works well.
as above the surface should be clean with no loose rust etc.Dont be tempted to use colors as theyre a b***h to keep kleen

I used BBQ grill paint. It's good up to 1500 degrees. I've used it on my old gold wing and it held up great. With most high temp paints you have to back the part after you paint it to get the paint to cure but not with the BBQ grill paint. Just scuff up the exhaust and paint it. Let it dry and install. It smells kind of funky the first time you run it but after that your good to go.
You should be able to pick it up and any hardware store. I got mine at walmart. It comes in a spray paint can.

Laugh if you want but it's cheaper and easier to use then the hi temp engine and exhaust paints. And whats Wrong with Cooked weiners. Here in Wisconsin we perfer to cook Brats. But to each his own.
