How hard should the clutch lever be to mash in and hold? I'll swear, mine is so hard, my hand starts trembling after a minute or so. It is so hard to pull in, I can't do it more than three or four times without having to use my other hand to help me get it in. This can't be normal, can it?

Yea, it releases ok, but there is a slight hesitation when I let go of the handle, sometimes requiring me to nudge it on out with my finger. The clutch engages fine, and when the back wheel is off the ground and the transmission in gear, engaging the clutch will stop the wheel from turning. The cable is old and I'm sure needs replacing, but I didn't think it could get so bad that it would be this hard to mash the lever. I literally cannot squeeze the handle more than about three or four times in a row. It's like squeezing one of those spring type weights that you use to build up your hand and forearm, only harder. As you can probably tell, I don't have much experience to call on, so I depend on you guys for a lot of my seemingly stupid questions. Thanks.

I had a throttle cable that was hard to pull, I thought no way could it be the cable. I changed it and it felt like a new bike, the old one had rust inside of it...try the $10 cable first.Gary Granger
