Pics of our bikes

Hi all,
Not sure where to post this, or if anyone is interested and the moderators don't mind.
I thought it would be fun for us all to post pictures of our bikes.

I have plenty of room on one of my servers to host the pics.

You could have people email you thier rics and you email them back the URL for the image tag. Then we can post them in a thread
different thread for each year / model
I can host my own, I got a few web servers.

like the IDea ... but................ As I look around the site of XS11.COM I find that there is a section that already is dedicated to pictures of owners bikes. I just dont know where to send the picture to have it posted. Maybe your way is better , faster, and easier.

I asked the webmaster JP, to join in and comment on plans for the photos section. Right now I don't think anybody is updating photos on the original website.

Yeah, I sent a photo a couple of years ago, before the forum, and again a year or so ago, no results. I agree, we need updated/recent user photos.

yuddy, are you the guy? On the photos site, it says you email to the photoeditor@xs11.com. That has been the instructions for a few years, IIRC. Before there was a forum I sent a photo, later I sent another. Never saw the photo. If this is still the method then we can submit photos without the need for any special new pages. Just say the word. If there are new instructions then let us know.

I talked to JP and right now it seems that we really are not sure what to do with photos. He has some new software but has not tried it out yet, we would like a little automatic deal where people submit photos of a certain size and then they would automatically be updated to the gallery. Something is in the works......but when? I don't know.

Is there a megabyte limit to this site? I was wondering if we could post to a new fixed section, like the Links section or Ride Reports or Feature Testing? Would there be drawbacks to this? Long time to load? We would have to limit photos to a certain size, maybe no bigger than 640x480? Maybe some folks don't know how to do that...

Hey Marty,
I can donate a cople of Gigabytes of storage on my webserver. I can host the photos section and update it weekly, all that will need to be done is change the link in the navigation bar here at xs11.com.
I think to avoid long load times, we would just do a differnt section for each year, model with thumbnails. Then people only have to look at the big picture that they want to see. very similar to the way it is set up now.
We could even do a featured "Bike of the Month"
Any and all help from me is free & advertisement free, so that will NOT be an issue.
I emailed JP a few months ago offering help on web hosting, implemetation or design, but never heard back from him.
