Electrical and fuel problem

Ok, I need help figuring out a couple of issues on my 80 mns. First off, My headlight and turn signals don't work. I have pulled all of them apart and the bulbs are all good, and the turn signals all flash when I turn on my 4way flasher, but not when I use the turn signal switch. My headlight won't work no matter what. I have thought of bypassing my RLU but I have no idea if this is even part of the problem. Also, I'm not sure how to route my fuel hoses, after my stupid mechanic pulled and rebuilt my carbs, and then didn't finish the work. I have put the carbs and airbox back on, but have no idea how to run the hoses from the gas tank to the carbs. I did a search on how to route them, and can only find a diagram on running the hoses with the octy still in place, and I'm pretty sure that the PO removed mine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a '79 with a special tank. My carbs are from an '80. when I bought mine, it have no carbs or airbox or any of that stuff. had to figure it all out for myself, on each petcock, there are two ports, the ones toward the front of the bike are the prime ports. I plugged those and ran the rearward ports to the two carb inlets. others have done similar things with some variations on that theme. that'll take care of your fuel issues, as to your headlight, I would be inclined to check inside the left side controls as they have the turn signal switch and the high beam switch. every once and a while, my headlight goes away, if I fiddle with the hi beam switch, it comes back. may haps there's a bad wire in there, rubbed off insulation or something. Otherwise, you are gonna have to chase it throughout the wiring harness. if both the turn signals and the headlight have a common cause, that might be a good place to start looking. hope I have been of some help. have a nice day and ride safe
