it just started all at once but now in neutral the light wont come on and the tach stops working.if i put it in any gear the tach starts working.also as long as the brake is on the tach stops working.is this just a bad ground somewhere?where are the grounds?or just start at the front and start looking?

Hey Ram,
The ground cable for the battery connects to the frame on the left side, and can rust/corrode there. The Engine to frame ground strap is near the back of the engine, find the middle drive and starter, you'll see a flat strap connected to an engine bolt and to the frame below the air box. Yea, those are some funky symptoms, might be a bad ground, good luck! You're in the neck of the woods of an electrical Guru Geezer!

ya if i turn the blinkers on the tach stops also.bike still runs as good as it did before.and it was fine till yesterday.i hosed the grounds down with wd-40 so i can get the screws off then i will clean them up good.81 SH for 300 bucks,work in progress.

ok i went thru and cleaned the grounds.then i went and pulled all connections cleaned and shot with some wd-40.so far the neutral light does come on now.i dont want to start iit till the wd has some time to evaporate.but it looks like it was just bad connections.81 SH for 300 bucks,work in progress.
