Today i took the bike to Motor Vehicles for inspection. The bike has not been inspected since 2006 and today it passed. One thing that has changed is that motor vehicles now tells you to stop the engine using the kill switch. The inspector told me that alot of people disable the switch so it now has to be checked.Maybe this is a New Jersey thing-just so people know about this-Anyway the ride there was pretty normal.Bike ran beautifully and today when i got home pulled 1 spark plug to check the condition.Very, very light brown insulator .Bike is running great thanks to the great advice i have gotten on this site!

Kill switch has to work here as well. Pretty well all the electrics have to. As well as steering head bearings, swing arm has to be tight, shocks can't be too screwed and fork seals are supposed to be good as well as the more obvious stuff.http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1241/1480921818_241eade448_s.jpg

The basics on the bike here. You don't even ride it through the lane anymore. And years ago they used to look at the helmet to make sure it had reflective tape on it.I used to fail every time i went because of that.So i dedicated a helmet for inspection purposes.I had tape everywhere.Ride safe!1980 XS1100 SG

Here in Washington you have no inspection anymore for bikes. You used to have to get inspected if you bought a vehicle from out of state, but they did away with that several years ago.I even bought a chinabike a few years ago and it had a certificate of origin.Just paid for title and registration and that was it,they never even looked at it.80 SG XS1100
