  • BIG thanxs and a new question

I would like to thank Skids and all the others who responded to my float height/ fuel level prob..almost got it nailed now..went for a ride over the weekend ( didnt realize how nice these things go)
My question is, how much "slack" is normal in the tranny; I have a pretty definate clank on every shift. I s this normal? If I sorta quik shift its ok but when I casually shift its really sounds like theres a buncha slack somewhere. (sounds like in the rear of the trans). any input and or sound effects are appreciated.

They are a pretty noisey shifting transmission by nature.
Shift into First Before you stop.
Pull the clutch in and hold it for bout 25 seconds when shifting from neutral to first. This will make it less harsh.
oh yeah, watch out for 5th gear - speeds of 135+MPH can be reached.

Yep, these transmissions are clunky! Just ignore it and ride.
