    Side covers

I almost lost a right side cover on the weekend and since I bought the 1000 Virago for Kathi I have lost BOTH side covers off it. I bought new covers on ebay and more importantly I bought new grommets. I put them on the Virago tonight and salvaged a good one from it for the Special. They are the same rubber I don't know if new ones are available for the XS but my plans of wiring the covers loosely to the frame have been dropped. The new grommets make all the difference and most of the old ones didn't look that bad but I am surprised what a difference this makes.

Thanks for the tip Carl. I picked up some new ones at the fastener center. Less than a buck for a pair.

They used to be made by Mirriams. only source I know of. But now that Bob is gone, Mirriams is selling everything on Ebay.

I just got 2 EBC prolite rotors from them for $149 on Ebay.

I always thought the covers were way expensive from Mirriams, but at least it was a source.

Karla and Bohn, (Bob's wife and her partner) are nice people and very easy to do business with. I recommend them highly.

There is a place not far from here called The Ottawa Fastener Center. The stock all kinds of bolts, nuts, screws, sae and metric, steel and stainless steel. They have quite an assortment of grommets, plugs that sort of thing.

I can spend hours in there!
