    brakes.....now i have them....now i dont!?!?

This weekend i got productive and rebuilt the front calipers on the XS and put on new pads.........well after bleeding all the air out of the lines it just so happens that my brake handle some times is firm and sometimes is not at all and will travel all the way to the grip and not have enought force to slow the bike, but if i let go and squeze again it will build the pressure and brake but still not as good as it use to.......so i re-bled the brakes to check for more air, but nun.... the calipers are not leaking anything at all, nor the lines.....

    any ideas?

You've still got air in the system somewhere. Otherwise, the lever would be rock hard all the time, every time. Sort of like cleaning the carbs three times, or more....

It's possible that fluid is leaking past the plunger in the master cylinder. If you have properly bled the system and there are no leaks anywhere, then this is the only other explanation.

I had the same problem. Sometimes air gets trapped in the splitter and it takes a long time to bubble out. It can also get stuck at the banjo off the MC. I bled mine and bled mine and still ahd a soft pull. Someone on this site, think it was AlanB, suggest to pump the lever until rock hard.....pull it as tight to the bars as possible....then bunjee or clamp it that position and leave overnight. I did and it worked!

              troubles with bubbles...

              Hey Geniusloerts,
I had to bleed my lines 3 times when I switched to SS lines. It's the splitter and the banjo at the mc that cause the troubles with bubbles.....
