  • Carb Sync - Can I borrow yours?

I am in Duluth, MN. Is there anyone near there that has a carb sync tool that I could borrow? Or possibly I drive over and you help me sync my carbs? I would be greatly appreciative. I purchased all the stuff to build my own vacuum carb sync tool but before I do I thought I would ask if anyone has one I could borrow. Thanks!

I'm in appleton WI That's a little far to drive. But go to JCwhitney.com and they have some mercury one's there for $40 or $50 It's been awhile since I ordered mine. But the mercury ones are a lot nicer to use and give you better readings. You just have to be carfull not to crack the throttle and let off fast or it will suck the mercury in. You can rev it up but you have to let off slow you'll be able to see the mercury and judge how fast to do it.

I can't find a carb sync device at jcwhitney.com. Besides, I have already built the vacuum syncer. I am hoping to sync my carbs with it in the next couple of days. I will post pics in my other thread about it.

Or just build your own for about $10. Lots of info on that here, just search.

I synced my carbs with the vacuum method yesterday. I think it worked pretty well. Although, now I want to do it with a carbtune to get really precise. Also, I want to colortune the idle mix as well. Does anyone around Duluth have a colortune?

Yea, Appleton is a bit far away.

I just talked to the Yamaha dealer up hear and he said they don't work on bikes older than '85. I wanted to know if they had a carbtune I could use but he straight up denied me 'cause my bike was too old! that's ridiculous.
