  • Gas tank moulding clips?

Was wondering if any of you know of a place where I can get the little metal clips that are used on the underside edges of the gas tank? I have multiple gas tanks from various bikes that I could use the clips on.

Of equal interest, where can one get the plastic moulding that those clips hold on?
I too have more than one gas tank and mine could use both the clips and the moulding.

I bought some automotive door edge protector for my tank from a local Pep Boys (auto supply). It is self adhesive and comes in silver, black and gold. I bought the gold and it looks pretty good, IMHO.
I only have a few of those clips myself and used them on the bottom of the tank to help hold the ends of the moulding. The heat of the engine softens the adhesive so the clips are needed on the bottom of the tank.

Bike Bandit has the clips for $2.81 ea. and shows the moulding for a 1981 special for $18.92. ouch!

I got enough door edge protector to do 10 tanks for $5 less.

If anyone needs a section of gold tank edge moulding I have plenty....
