  • Air Box Boots

How important is it for the air box boots to be 100% in their proper place in their proper grooves . I was inspecting fuel lines the other day and looking closely find the Dealer type shop that had them off did not get them back in place 100% . On the outside they look ok but inbetween is in question . I tried to poke them back in with a plastic trim stick but they dont want to .I think they are sealing as I have no symptoms . Mostly I'm talking about the boot to air box joint but the carb ends of the boot is crooked on some as well .

If you think it can suck in unfiltered air then it matters. If it can't then it's not.

It may be that the shop has mixed up your air box boots

There are three shapes of boot on each bike. The two centre ones are the same but the left and right ones are sided.

Here's how to tell which one goes where.

Axel they are hard to get on and off. I followed the advice I got on here and cut most of the snorkel off. Sure made it a lot less tough to get on and off.
