  • My appologies to TC and John less a sore back

I had reason to place my bike on it's maintenance stand today and decided to use TC's written method found in thread, http://www.xs11.com/forum/showthread...on+centerstand

as cited by John. It works surprisingly well and saves my back from trying to muscle it up. What I found out I was doing wrong was not allowing the machine to rest on "both" feet of the maintenance stand before the lift up and rotate backwards. I was afraid to let the bike get too far vertical as the tendency to let the heavy beast go over on it's right side when the weight shifts in that direction. Not so! The bike really stabilizes its self on the two feet of the maintenance stand and it is just a slight lift and rotate. What a difference, as I was using my jack to change oil rather than throw my back out.

There is a wealth of knowledge on this site.
