  • Yet ANOTHER turn signal dilemma!

    So I ordered new front signal assys from Partsnmore in an effort to return this bike to stock form. The ones I ordered only have two wires coming from the bulb socket. I thought that the socket itself was going to be the ground and the two wires were for turn/running lights but upon further research I have found that the original front signals have THREE wires, one for ground, one for running lights and one for turn signals. So now I'm going to have to replace the socket in the new lamps to 1157 sockets and possibly add a ground wire to hook up everything to the factory harness in the headlight (new HL coming also). The harness has two blue connectors for running lights, two brown for turns and two blacks for ground.

    The ones I ordered are obviously for the rear with only two wires (ground and turn, the only one they had listed).

    The assy I have now wasn't even grounded right and I had to add a wire from the black connectors to the HL can to complete the circuit. (was having turn signal problems when I moved the HL around they dimmed and didn't work).

    Anyway, has anyone had to replace those sockets and if so where should I get them?

    Thanks ahead of time! You guys have been a lot of help.

    I replaced mine with the sockets from some other turn signals that I had sitting around, unfortunately I don't know what they were from. I had read on here somewhere that you could go to an auto parts store and get some generic sockets for the 1157 bulbs.

    Wish I could help more.

      Dark Green = Right turn
      Chocolate = Left turn

      Should be able to get socket from an auto parts store.
      May need to be "made to fit: tho.
