Found a nasty little pool of oil under my left fork slider and have noticed a lot of dirt sticking to the fork slider by the fork dust cover. I guess rplacing my seals is on the to do list. Other than the replacement of the caps at the jobs ( read the threads and tips), any tips or things to watch for during the seal replacement job, or does the Clymers manual cover it pretty well?

I changed the seals on my SF a couple years ago and it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. There's a couple of good threads here with plenty of tips. One of the important things I found is to use stock yamaha seals and not aftermarket, especially not the "leak proof" brand.

If you are doing it yourself, one suggestion I'd give to you. After you've drained the oil, undo and take out the ALLEN bolt from the bottom of each forkleg before you start stripping. Saves any probs later on with your strip down.
