Kickstand Standoff

I went to go start my xj1100 for the first to me time had it firing good when it was apart. Than I took it off the main stand and put it on the kickstand and put it back together added gas turned the petcocks on and got plenty of gas no spark. I went through that xj from front to back couldnt figure it out the old westerns kept coming to mind when there horse broke a leg, well pilgrim I reckin im going to have to put her down, then at that moment I sat on her while I was starting her and the kickstand fliped up on it's own and boom she came to life. I didn't even think there was a kickstand switch but when it started it sounds good I thought it was going to sound like a sewing machine but it sounds like a sport bike with the 4 to 1 kirker on it and loud.

Think the XJ has a neutral and clutch switch too, which goes thru a "safety relay switch".

I liked the setup on my '82 XJ650. Would start and run fine, but if you tried to put it in gear with the side stand down, it just killed it. Wish I should do that on my XS.
