  • sagging rear signal

PO took a mean fall, left side rear signal is popping out constantly, partly due to dead rubber, partly for bent metal

    any1 dealt with this before?

Time to replace the rubber grommet. I just ordered two new ones from Bike Bandit. $11.70 for the pair

they still have them, good news

still worried about the bent stuff, I straighten it at max, that small gape does it enough to let loose every ride, will look at big washers

but altogether I'd prefer a revamp of those heavy wobbly signals

Not sure as I have not replaced mine yet. Mine were damaged and cracking badly so I hope it's not a serious job to pop them out and replace them.

Looks like the small tines hold the rubber in place and the large washer keep it all from being pulled out of the socket in th eframe.

          ha!

so there is a large washer, that would make more sense, I guess I am missing both, not the first to mickey mouse on it

but any1 with pix of modifications, these signals look too HD knockoff for me (heavy heavy clumsy), wide is good but maybe brighter would be better, especially if I could stick them to the frame

I for one have never liked the turn signals. The rubber mounting way is not solid enough and in the event of a tip-over if the signals are tight against the washers nothing will give way.I have replaced my signals due to the cracked rubber but when it came time for the front signals,i went with LP signals that are small and out of the way. They are also very cheap.I put bolts where the old signals mounted and drilled out the bucket in a different location to mount them.

              Three words for you:
              L

              E

              D

Replaced ALL my signals recently. Bought resistor ballasts(one for each LED signal) and installed everything. VOILA...flashing LED's. Made my own brackets for them, mounted them, and LOVE them. However...the front one weren't bright enough for me, so I replaced them with SMALL (3/4 H x 2" L) halogen road lights from Wal-Mart. they make a NICE flash that's visible in bright sunlight for 1/4 mile at least. Only problem legally is that they're white. A no-no in some states. I mounted them sideways on my cluster up front with JB Weld. Im poor, I needed a fix, I made my own fix. But seriously...have you looked into integrated tail light systems? They are AWESOME. Just my Opinion...

Mine were sagging from the PO. The fix couldn't have been more simple. I unplugged the wires, ran a large washer up to the mount and tightened up the nut. It was that simple. No more sagging.
