I really like the looks of it especially the newer front end. Although, I think you could find a better headlight and fairing.

        I love it.

Theres enough plain jane old school stock looking xs11's out there. These bikes just scream "customize me please!"

Its a great start. Needs a mono shock in the rear, and a digital speedo and tach tucked above the bars under the fairing. 4-1 header and V/H pipe.

But I wouldn't give more than 1k w/o guages and with that exhaust.
        No guages= speeding tickets
and pipes just don't fit the look.

I look at a completely stock bike as all old parts, any thing can go wrong.
But a custom, modded, bobbed, chopped bike means lots of new parts. And the owner cared about his bike and was "into his bike". A real bike enthusiast. Not just a bike owner. As long as its not jerry rigged junk.
Lets face it. There was a lot of room for improvement from early 80's to now in technology, and even style. Handling and design.

like xschop 's chain mod there no reason
with chains and sprockets as good as they are today for a bike to be shaft drive with all the compromise that is.

                    BUSA vs. R1

Hey Genius, I chose the Busa over the R1 since the Busa is very close to the XS11 weight, So I didn't have to change springs. The R1 will fit on but the spring rate could be spongy on our big bikes....Maybe DennyZ can chime in on this....I like mine so much that I bought a second set for my other 11 that I am working on....chop

                      chop,

i had thought about the weight thing....but hadnt put too much consideration into it......i am leaning toward the busa front, but would like to keep the all YAMAHA effect....

what did you do about speedo and tach?

                        speedo

No tach yet, didn't have one before, I would want a very small dia. one. The speedo Is a Bell brand bicycle speedo and is VERY accurate up to 110 mph when it starts flashing at you....Maybe I should contact Bell and let them know my Bicycle needs a better designed speedo

                          chop,

i like the bike speedo thing....lol.....i am surprised there was no disclamer on it that says "not intended for highway use" kinda like the headlights and taillights for bikes......which i do carry one on the bike incase my tail lights ever go out again it worked great!!

                            trial and error

I went to Bell website and figured the setting for a 23.5 in Dia tire and plugged it into the digital interface.... It was spot on at 55mph...I will get a tach on later an see what the 14T sprocket will do at 70mph in 5th gear as compared to the 13T I have on now....chop
