  • Air jets

I know this has been adressed somewhere on here, but because of my age I will ask again. Which way do you adjust the air jets to make it run rich? Out or in? Thanks for your help

    tiredoffixing:

When you screw the air jet in, (clockwise) you en richen the fuel/air ratio as you are reducing the air flow (the needle goes near/in the hole). You turn the screw out (counter clockwise) you add more air to the mixture reducing the fuel mixture thus runs leaner. Of course the manual says don't touch those screws as they are factory set and any adjustment might run afoul of the EPA.

Of course you mean the air pilot screws or Idle mixture screws, those ones that sit up on the front of the carbs and others have said that they break off and get stuck in the holes. The air pilot jet goes in the back of the carb plenum and is not adjustable.

These carbs have fuel mixture screws, not air jet screws. Out= richer, in=leaner.

I stand corrected, Left is richer right is leaner, I will posthumously receive the DA award.
