  • oil plug washer

I changed the oil recently and am curious-does it matter what the washer is made of? I have a copper washer and a fiber washer, but is there a difference? My boss uses copper washers and i also used one and it doesn't leak but is there really a difference?

The OEM oil plug washer is the same as the spark plug washer.

Since the spark plug torque is 14lbs and the oil plug is 30-something, there is still some crush room left even on the old spark plug washer.

I save my used spark plug washers and use them on the oil plug.

As far as copper vs. fiber, if it doesn't leak, it's OK!

Almost 30 and still using my original plug and washer. No runs, no drips, no errors!

If it doesnt drip, thats the important thing.
