I have to take the bolts out of the cylinder head that hold the exhaust head pipes on and I was wondering what is the best way to do it without striping them out. Also I was wondering what the torque was on these bolts when replacing them. Thanks again.

Well, Conky ...
the fastener that holds the exhaust pipes to the cylinder head is usually an 8mm stud of between 15 and 25 mm depending on whether we're dealing with a Special or Standard head and stock exhaust. On the stud should be a nut that has an internal hex head so an allen wrench would fit ... with me so far?
If what you're saying is that there are now bolts holding the pipes on instead of the fastener I just described, I would recommend that you attempt to replace them with a stud and nut assembly. Carefully remove the bolts and guage the length or look at the Yamaha microfiche for the size that will work on your particular bike. Loctite the studs in and use the factory style nuts in place of the bolts.80G Mini-bagger
