But I really like wire spoke rims on these bikes... any idea where I can find them, and what bikes they can come off of?

As Fred says the XS650 front goes straight in, the rear is more difficult. You've got to find a GX750 rear hub which is like trying to find a gold Rolex on a Tibetan monk
I got mine laced up with new rims with 3.5mm stainless spokes on the front and 4mm on the rear. Should be strong enough for the XS1100's weight..'84 SportComment
