I installed my Heli-coil spark plug insert today and a brand new spark plug.I replaced the broken bolt that holds the front brake line connector and turned on the gas and it started right up .I pulled out the choke to start it ,let it warm up for 15 seconds, shut off the choke and it idled at around 1000 rpm no problem,no hesitation.Should the rpm be lower at idle? Also i added Seafoam in the tank and was wondering is it normal to see some smoke? My truck smokes somewhat if i add Seafoam to the tank.Is this normal?

79'+ idle around 1050/1150 is normal.
My SF when first off choke idles at 1000, once at full operating temp. climbs to just under 1100.

I got a bottle of sea foam years ago. Never got around to putting any in my tank tho...

I see you have your wiring sorted out. The smoking may be from the material that the sea foam is breaking loose/dissolving.
1000 is a good idle speed, I wouldn't mess with that.

How does that go - black smoke means oil, white smoke means new pope?

Smoke was white-ish but now its gone.I think it was because of the Seafoam.I installed my connectors using a crimper i bought from Geezer(Thanks) and now i have the taillight again. My only concern-pods keep on coming off of carb body.I tighten the clamp even a tiny bit and they come off.Bike idles smoothly with no hesitation.Test day tomorrow!

              I tighten the clamp

If these pods be really "snug" fitting just pushing em on, then they be too small. Some times you can use a razor knife and open em up so they fit all the way on without stretching the rubber. Then the clamp should tighten without squirting the pod off.
