  • Idle mix screw broken

I just cleaned the carbs on my "79" XS11 Special for the first time. I obtained the bike last summer. It was salvaged and restored by a local enthusiast. I snapped at the chanch to get this bike because my dad has the same year and modle with a few costomizations.
My dilema is that upon reassebbling the carbs I discovered one of the idle mixture screws has the tip missing ...argh. Funny the same screw was also missing the brass washer that rides below the spring. Does anyone have an extra that I could purchase? If not, what is a fair price and where is the best source for this part?
Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Hey I hope I'm not the bearer of bad news but if the tip is missing it has to be somewhere, right?Well those have a nasty habit of breaking off in the carb.So look in the venturi where the tip would just stick through(the end with the butterflies).Feel to see if it is stuck in there. You can also look down the hole where that screw goes in and hold a light in the venturi. If you see light down through that hole then no problem. If no light you will have to remove that tip. There are threads here on tip removal.

      Where

Where are you? If you fill out your profile a little more, with city and state and what type of XS you have, it saves lots of time. I have some, but I would need to check to see if they're the same.

            Was hoping

you were close. I could help easy that way. I have a pretty good selection of carb parts, even complete banks.
