I have not had a working fuel light for close to 15 years. What is required on my SG to make it work? The connection was cut off and i see 2 wires that used to connect it to something-but what?

The sender should have a two wire connector with green, and a black wire. The harness connector will be right nearby the end of the sender connector. It will have a green and a black wire also. It will be at the right rear of the tank.

Are there any short stubs of wire comung from the sender? If there is, then you can splice some new wire onto them, and then make a new connector so you can plug into the harness. Do you have the fuel sender connector in the harness?

In the harness i see 2 wires- a dark green and a black wire-thats it.No other wires on tank just 2 prongs where you could put a connector.

Those two prongs are what you need. You should be able to use some insulated female spade type butt connectors on some 16 gauge wire, black and green, if you prefer, to connect to the sender, and then at the harness, make a new connection with the black and the green wires there. Are they in a white plastic connector?

Yes, the connector from the SH harness will work. If you have any problems, just give a yell.
