  • Running ruff

I haven't had time to have a good look yet. I just got in from work and on the way home not too long after I left work my bike was running ruff like it would when it was running low on fuel.

I turned the petcocks to reserve and it was fine for a while and then ran like it was running out of fuel .I turned it to prime and it ran good for a while again. I had to do this all the way home turning the petcock from on to reserve to prime . Would this have something to do with the petcock being dirty ?

Check the fuel cap vent. If it is plugged, a vacuum will form in the tank, and the fuel will not flow.

I'm with John, check you cap to make sure its venting, also double check your lines for any kinking.

The vaccum line to to octo fell off when I was on a ride up in Tobemory. With full farings on it took me a while to figure out the problem.

I tried to keep that thing on so as to maintain the bike as stock as possible but I finally had it with that bundle of fuel lines, always having to make sure none of them were pinched.

Took it off and replumbed with some nice yellow fuel line and in line filters.

Where would one dispose of the fuel shut off? At Detroit's rink?
