  • Quick Carb Holder

Wanted to confirm fuel level in bowls.

    How to hold carbs?

Found piece of angle iron in garage (this is why you don't throw things out even though SWMBO advises to)

No mods or cutting needed, carbs sit nicely on angle iron!

After all that the fuel in each carb is at the same level and just a hair below the top of the bowl (were all set to 25.7mm)

    egsols:

That's a keeper, I have to pull my carbs one more time as I had been away from them for a week and the moment that I started the "Red Head", she did the unthinkable of dripping fuel in the air box, so I have a #3 or #4 dripping fuel. After all of the trials that I ran it through. Floats sticking again or needle not seating, after all she has all new seats, needles and floats. Those plastic floats sure are critical, as they seem to not fit very well. Oh well, into the breach once more.

That's the problem I have, fuel dripping into airbox. Only happens when I'm not looking. I can go for a ride. Park it, watch it for hours, everthing dry. Go to work, come home, still dry. Eat dinner go out to garage....gas on floor...arrrrgh!

Found left petcock had leak so rebuilt with new kit last night. Found tiny wear grooves on float needles. Installed new valves, seats, gaskets last night. Check float height, check for any leaks, none. Put carbs back on bike, today I will sync and tune pilot screws.

We'll see if that fixes it.
