do the "hourglass test" that i think Ken Talbot has in the tips page, on the wires for the pickup coils..
I thought i had carb and then coil problems, and it turned out to be the pickup coil wires... I was having that problem on Deuce last year, - it was intermittent enough that I couldn't reproduce it.. but when i got stranded on 2 cyl all the way home on a 80 mile ride at 20 mph, i found the coil wires were hourglassed so bad it was finally visible just by taking off the cover..
It might help double check a potenial problem before it bites.
