  • swing arm and drive shaft grease

    Hello,
Gonna take the rear off and grease the drive shaft. Do I use the same grease that would normally get pumped in?

Since, I'm takeing the rear off as it is I figured I would clean and re-grease the swing arm bearings. Do I need new oil seals or can I remove the ones in there without destroying them? Also which grease do I use? The red waxy one or the moly#2 that I've used on everything else? Only reason I ask cause it says to use a waterproof grease...

BTW "Hope I got this right but, I used lithium moly-sulfide #2 wheel bearing grease on the wheel bearings, steering bearings, throttle etc..."

Thanks For all the help guys. Heading on my first "long run" next week so I want to be sure I get back home.

That grease should work just fine. I DO use synthetic grease, but thats just me....
The swing arm bearings should be good, unless you have 50K on the bike.
    Have a good ride!!

The bike was not serviced very well by the previous owner. So the swing arms are sealed up that tight?
Would I need seals if I'm just doing a regrease on the swing arm?

Thanks Again For All the Help....
