  • Still Cannot figure this out

I posted this question yesterday, but noticed the post has been removed, anyway the light on my dash for oil, stop and signal (idiot light) seems to flicker and come on a lot, stays on for 2 or 3 miles and hen goes off. Sometimes at idle, sometimes going down the road. I have installed a oil pressure gauge, replaced all bulbs and checked connections, still does the same thing....................... Any suggestions?????????????

Your original post is still there - as a matter of fact someone has even answered it. You have to look on the next page. As people post new things the older ones get pushed to later pages. Go to the bottom of the page and click next.

Well, if your engine hasn't fried yet, I'd say you still have a loose connection somewhere.

I agree with Randy. It's either got to be the sending unit itself or the wire that feeds either the sending unit or the light (or both). According to your other post, the pressure gauge is showing that you have adequate oil pressure so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just take your time examining the wiring and track it down. I believe the oil light comes on when the wire to the sending unit is grounded so maybe that wire has worn through somewhere and is rubbing against ground.

Thanks, I just got finished tracing the wire down and did find a "naked" spot. Sealed it off and no more flickering light. Sometimes the obvious is the hardest to see........... Thanks again.
