    Tkat fork brace

If a "percentage" of "you", had ever met the man,.....called TKAT, and you had ridden "with/against" him. you would know, that, it would be a priviledge, and not a "security" payment, to use his products!! I guess I am tired of people "finding" other sources for a quality product, that "fills" the factory, missing techno area, when TKAT, has, and can, do the same! Everytime, I am into a wicked twisty, and the front forks start to "dance", I love him! Try it, you will like it!

I would *love* to have this honor - he emailed me back a few days ago saying that he was about to make a post about his payment information, but I haven't see it - am I blind? It's quite possible I just missed it!

      Snow,
I don't imagine Tkat will post anything to this forum. He posts on the yahoo allXS11 site.

This was posted by him just last Thursday
      From: Tkat <tkat@t...>
      Date: Thu Feb 20, 2003 8:35 pm
      Subject: Std. F/B's

      I think I goofed.

      Just finished 17 of 'em.

Sent out posts to those on the waiting list --- all 14 of them.

That means there's only 3 unspoken for . I wanted @ least 6 in stock as
I'm super BZ & going under the knife shortly My bad.

Has there been a thread on the Forum I know not about ?
I agree with Sid. Though I never met the man, I have heard nothing but top notch things about him. All my dealings with him have been nothing but first rate.

Tkat is an interesting guy. I had the chance to ride with him, just the two of us, at Camp 2001 in Colorado. Rode with him again in a group at Speafish 2002 in South Dakota. Have his fork brace on my XJ. Same brace that he sells directly to us is the same one Merriman sells for about double the price.

Due to many injuries, Tkat (and his significant other, Myrna) are riding a Kawaski Concours these days, or at least that is what he had at Spearfish. If you ever get to talk to him, take the time to do so. Tkat is quite the machinist and has owned many bikes besides the XS 11. Rumor is that he is in his early 70s now.......

I have a not so great photo of him at Camp 2001:

Tkat does good quality work. Those fork braces shine-up niiiiice. Tkat has wrecked more cycles than I have ever known ;-) In fact, I believe he is getting, or just got, another surgery. It must have something to do with those Evil Knevil style boots! (just kidding, Tkat!).

When the XSives gather, almost all the bikes have the Tkat brace, so any bike without one looks kinda odd, like something's missing.

At one point I learned a little mechanical drafting and AutoCad. What xs11.com needs is a well-dimensioned drawing of the brace. Did Tkat patent the thing?
