  • cleaning old grease off final drive and drive shaft splines

Other than trying to wipe it off, is there any solvent that is recommended? I've been told brake cleaner, mineral spirits, etc...but was worried about leaving a residue that might break down the new grease. Never had the rear wheel off before, so could use some advice.

    Thanks!

    Brakleen leaves no residue.
