Reconnect the connector with the white wires. You need to disconnect the one with the brown wire and the green wire.
The end of the connector going downwards toward the bottom of bike. The side opposite the one with ohms.Jumping just means hooking one wire from one component to another.

        Thanks Again.
The side of the connector that goes down to the alternator.
Jumping is taking a wire and hooking it directly to a point. IAW bypassing the existing wiring or switch. The alternator is the big bulge on the lower right side of the engine that says YAMAHA on it.

        BTW check out:

Ok still not sure how to jump it but I tried that test and what do ya know the tack turned on and the headlight turned on brighter than ever, I left the white wires connected. did I do this correctly? or do I have to do something with the white wires to test it correctly. Will a new regulator also fix my charging issue?

If the light came on it was charging.Thats Yamahas little hint when the tach stops working apparently that is suppose to tell you your alternator isnt charging. So you killed two birds with one stone.Your alternator is good and your regulator is not.

By the way do not run the bike that way for more than a couple seconds because bad elecrical will come your way.Like burnt bulbs and maybe wires or even burn up alternator.
