  • front wheel stuck

Sorry, stupid question time. Darned if can remember how I removed the front wheel last time. Tire is a 110 instead of 100 and I do remember it being a tight fit. I have it deflated, calipers off and fender loose and I can't squeeze it out between the forks. I don't really want to loosen fork brace or anything else just to get the stupid tire off. Or do I have to??

It's new tire time for XS East....

    front wheel removal

On the Specials, you have to turn the fork legs to get the wheel out, which unfortunately means removing fender and fork brace.

        tightening order

First, tighten left side castle nut. 2nd, center rt. rotor in caliper bracket (fork) and tighten pinch bolt. Last, put on fender, then fork brace. P.S. Make sure speedo hub is in it's slots before tightening castle nut.

I've just done this on my 79SF. If you've a Tkat forkbrace you just have to loosen it and the fork tubes should rotate easily thoough it still takes some manuevering to get the tire out.
