  • Broken thread on speedometer

So the PO laid my bike down on some ice and I've repaired EVERYTHING that was broken except the speedometer. The threaded part that holds the collar from the speedo cable broke in half. How or what should I do to fix/repair it?

Looks like you'll need to get a new cable since the end is flared.
    Hi...my name is Mike, and I'm a lane-splitter.

When you say the threaded part...Do you mean the female threaded part of the cable, or the male threaded part where the cable end screws to? If it is the male end, then that is an itregal part of the speedo, and cannot be replaced seperately.

        grrr...

John...I am not happy with you. Yes it is the male end of it. The cable, collar, everything else is fine...except that part. Grrr! Well I'll try to take it apart and fix it in a cheap/effective way first. Then if I can't succeed...time to talk to Andres.

            Hi A-P,

            It is broken.

You are either looking for an "inspired repair".. (we call 'em "bodges" over here!).... or you need a new part.
