  • Spark Plugs

A question of clarification from someone... anyone... who knows.
What is the difference between the owners manual recommended plug - NGK BP6ES and, NGK BPR6ES ?

Also, are there any problems, or foreseeable issues, using the BPR6ES plugs? I've asked the store employees but, no-one could provide an answer.

    Thanks?

Basically, the BPR plug is a resistor plug. It would be the one to choose if you have an onboard radio. This will give you less engine noise through the speakers. Either plug will work though.

        resistor plugs

If you have resistor caps and resistor plugs ,you may be reducing your spark a bit . I had to consider this when going to Iridium plugs . If you want more performance that makes up for the extra resistance ,try Iridium . BPR6EIX , I think . (6637 at NAPA)
As the stock coils are considered somewhat weak from the factory ,I plan on getting some from MikesXS and going with no-resistor caps or no caps at all .

I run the Iridium plugs myself, along with Accel coils. Big fat spark, to be sure.

The nice part is the resistor version of the plug is the same one used in a 1997 Honda Accord 4 cyl! Can you say any type plug you want, if it's resistor!
